Current Problem:

Atlassian Cloud currently supports syncing the EmployeeID attribute from an Identity Provider (IDP). However, there is no way to retrieve the EmployeeID attribute using the REST API or access it via automation smart values. This limitation prevents users from leveraging the EmployeeID in integrations, automations, and Atlassian apps.

Suggested Solution:

Enhance the Atlassian Cloud REST API and automation smart values to support retrieving the EmployeeID attribute for users. This would allow customers to programmatically access EmployeeID and use it in automation rules, integrations, and custom workflows.

Workaround:

Currently, there is no direct workaround. Users must manually manage EmployeeID data outside of Atlassian Cloud or rely on custom scripts and external databases, which is inefficient and error-prone.
