Issue Summary

When a select list custom field is restricted to specific work item types and spaces, the options aren't available for selection in Basic Search unless the user also supplies a space filter.

This has been reproduced with:

• Select List (Single Choice) field options restricted in context to spaces or work types
• Cascading Select field options restricted in context to spaces or work types

However it's likely any "multi select searcher" based fields have the same problem.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a custom field of affected type (or use an existing one) that uses a context as described above.
2. Navigate to Basic Search and select a space and a work item type that are in the context of the custom field.
3. Add the custom field in the search and try to select an option.

Expected Results

The options in the value picker are displayed according to the values configured in the context.

Actual Results

A tooltip stating that “We couldn’t find what you’re looking for” is displayed.

Workaround

Either:

• Switch over to JQL from Basic search, which will allow you to use any available operator to fetch the matching work items.
• Add the relevant project/space to the JQL Basic search criteria
