      Issue Summary

Looking at the Troubleshoot warnings page, see here It says the warning Child work item starts before parent work item (or ends after) should appear if the dates for the child work items don't align with the dates of the parent.

One way to resolve this is to roll-up dates in the plan.

However, since last week, this warning has been happening even when users choose to roll-up dates, it uses the earliest and farthest date in its child work items, but the warning comes up with

Child work item ends after its parent work item
      ABC-38 ends 1d after its parent XYZ-16

In this scenario, Child item start date is 01 Aug 2025 and due date is 31 Oct 2025.
Parent start date is 01 Apr 2025 and due date is 31 Oct 2025.

If I click on the parent's due date and set it to 31 Oct 2025, the warning goes away.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Go to a Timeline in your Plan that shows Parent and Child work items
      2. Set a start date and due date to some of these issues
      3. On the view settings, choose to roll-up dates
      4. Notice the parent work item having the earliest and farthest child date in its start/due date fields.
      5. However, You get a warning like below
Child work item ends after its parent work item
        ABC-38 ends 1d after its parent XYZ-16

      Expected Results

If rolling up the date is a way to resolve this warning, it should disappear when enabled on the Timeline view.

      Actual Results

Since last week, the warning appears even when Roll-up (Dates and others) are enabled. This is noticeable in Plans that still use the old settings.

      Workaround

For now, we tell users to turn off this warning, but they do need this warning as they find it useful.
