Reviewing that the Backup for server will be discontinued starting June 30, 2025.

As in the suggestion on the following migration KB Migrating from Jira Cloud to Data Center applications to use the CSV file import wizard to export data from Cloud to Data Center. This tool supports data such as issue data, users, and project type.

Customer are encountering this solution not viable, since there are a lot of steps than now they need to do for migrating their applications from Jira Cloud to a Jira Data Center instance.

They are now face the limitations as the following:

        • Only issue data, users, and some project types are supported.
        • Many configuration elements (workflows, schemes, custom fields, automation, app data) are not migrated.
        • You may need to manually recreate project configurations, workflows, and re-link issues (such as Epics and subtasks) after import.

This is causing potential negative customer sentiment and the process of a CSV export/import is an unacceptable solution for the migration of their applications.

Finding a better solution for this process could help our customers whom decide to migrate their Jira Cloud applications to Jira Data Center.
