Currently, if you don't have "You make changes to work items" selected in your Notification settings, you will NOT get any notifications when you @mention yourself. 

It would be great if there were a separate permission with the ability to @mention yourself to get a notification without needing to have "You make changes to work items" selected, so you don't get all the other notifications for work items you edited.
