Issue Summary
As per this community announcement ,the creation of subtasks is restricted under higher hierarchy levels, such as Epics. However, there seems to be some loopholes where subtasks can still be linked to Epic issues by updating the parent field or cloning the subtasks.
The subtask and child issues were displayed under child work item panel which is an unexpected behavior.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an Epic
- Create a child issue under it.
- Add a subtask under the child issue created in step 2.
- Open the subtask and update the Parent link to the Epic issue created in Step 1.
- Navigate to Epic issue to check the update and child issues along with subtasks issues are reflected under the child issues panel under Epic
- Clone the Subtask and the newly cloned issues also reflects under the child issue panel of Epic issue.
Attached is the screen recording for detailed information:
Expected Results
Epic should not be linked to subtask issues and child issue panel should not contain subtasks issue. Also child issue panel should not be displayed under the Epic issue.
Actual Results
Epics are linked to subtask issues and child issue panel contain subtasks issue. Also child issue panel is be displayed under the Epic issue.
