Problem Summary

The Author field in the audit log of Jira Cloud does not display the username of the admin who made changes to groups. Instead, it shows "JIRA" as the author, making it impossible to trace who performed these actions.
As a product admin, I would like to be able to identify who performed the aforementioned actions.

How to replicate the Problem

1. Navigate to the Jira Cloud user management page
2. Go to Groups
3. Assign a user to a group, or remove a user from a group
4. Check the audit log for the recorded event

Suggested Results

The audit log should display the Account Id (or any unique identifier) of the person who performed the action in the Author field, allowing administrators to track who made the changes

Actual Results

The Author field displays "JIRA" instead of the actual person, obscuring the identity of the person who made the change.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior.
 
If customers have an Atlassian Guard subscription, the Org Admins will be able to determine this information from Atlassian Admin: under Security -> Audit Log
