Problem Statement:
Currently, when Jira applies updates to the Tempo app, it performs a reinstall that forces the time tracker to be repointed back to Tempo Timesheets. This process overwrites the existing Jira customer configuration, causing inconvenience and additional work for users who have customized their settings.
Feature Description:
Implement a mechanism that preserves user configurations during updates to the Tempo app. This feature would ensure that any custom settings or configurations made by the user are retained and automatically reapplied after the update process is completed.
User Interaction:
Users would not need to take any additional actions. The preservation of configurations would occur seamlessly during the update process.
User Benefits:
This feature will save users time and effort by eliminating the need to manually reconfigure settings after each update. It will also reduce the risk of errors and improve the overall user experience.
Current Workarounds:
Users must manually reconfigure their settings after each update, which is time-consuming and can lead to errors if configurations are not restored correctly.
