Issue Summary

If you create an work item in 1 project from the backlog then switch to another project's backlog, the caching is held onto for the 'create' dialogue and will create the work item in the project you navigated away from, instead of the project you are currently viewing and attempting to create in.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Using the New navigation experience
2. Navigate to two different boards so they are showing up in "Recent" section of the side bar
3. Set the 2 boards with Backlog as Default View
4. Click "+ Create" at the bottom of backlog 1 in Project 1 to create an work item
   1. NOTING that the work item is created in Project 1
5. navigate to Backlog 2 using the Recent section in the navigation pane
6. Click "+ Create" at the bottom of backlog 2 in project 2 to create 1 or more work items

Expected Results

the Work items are created in Backlog 2 under Project 2

Actual Results

All subsequent Work items are created on Backlog 2 in Project 1 until the page is refreshed to clear caching. All issues are then removed from backlog 2 and placed in backlog 1.

Workaround

Currently the only workaround is to refresh the page prior to creating the request to prevent the caching issue.

Correcting the error once triggered can be done by Moving the request to the appropriate project.

NOTE On workaround

This occurs in all sections (backlog, future sprints, and Active Sprint) so could lead to Origin board, Orphaned sprints or Manage Sprint errors covered when moving issues to the correct project:

• Some Jira users can't manage a Sprint (create, start, complete, edit) due to lack of permissions

If added to a Active sprint in an alternate board make sure to clean up the Sprint field and remove the workitem from the sprint before moving to a new project, details on a REST endpoint to identify Origin board can be seen in:

It is advisable to Delete an issue and recreate it in the correct project just to avoid any origin board conflicts that could arise if added to an active sprint.
