As mentioned in this article, all existing subtasks will be merged into the work item panel along with other child work items.
Because of this, there is an issue where the "Child work items" panel does not appear on the detail view if an epic only has subtasks as its child items.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create an epic with only subtasks as its child items.
      2. Open the detail view of the epic created in step 1.

      Expected Results

The "Child work items" panel is displayed.

      Actual Results

The "Child work items" panel does not appear.

      Workaround

      • From the detail screen of the relevant epic, click [+Add] > [Child work items], and the "Child work items" panel will appear. (However, it reverts when the screen is refreshed.)
      • Change the issue type of the child item from a subtask to an issue type that is one level below the epic.
