      Issue Summary

The customer is experiencing recurring issues with Confluence pages linked to Jira projects disappearing without any visible error. Attempts to recreate the links result in them disappearing upon page reload. This issue has been experienced multiple times.

Suddenly Links disappeared from the project pages. > When customer tried relinking the pages then it vanish again after the refresh.

They eventually start working again without any intervention.

      Expected Results

Project pages always show immediately without the need for multiple page refresh

      Actual Results

Project pages eventually shows up if user refreshes the page 30 seconds or a minute later.

      Workaround

This issue is caused by limitation with the project pages feature in which linkages to Confluence spaces and pages are not immediately displayed upon refreshing the page.

The reason for this is that we use Universal Graph Store to store the relationships between Jira projects and Confluence spaces/pages, and operations to this storage are eventually consistent, essentially meaning they are guaranteed to update the database eventually (typically within 30 seconds), but not immediately.

When a customer links to a space and then immediately refreshes the page, we call Universal Graph Store to retrieve the linked space for the Jira project and display this on the UI–however the customer is sometimes seeing stale data in the case that they refresh immediately. They can expect to eventually see the updated space if they refresh the page 30 seconds or a minute later.

There are strategies to mitigate this kind of frustrating UX, but unfortunately this is a current limitation of the feature.

As space linkages are not super common with this feature (typically you'd set a space to a project once and leave it), this isn't something we plan to "fix" in the immediate future.
