On the old nav when you open an app - e.g. Tempo, it opens and uses the whole screen (no left sidebar).

On the new nav when you open an app, the left nav sidebar remains visible (wasting screen space). i.e. the user has to manually hide the sidebar if they want to use the whole screen (clicking or via '[').

To reproduce: Main Nav (Old=Top or New=Left) > Apps > Tempo (or ScriptRunner Enhanced Search)

Request to hide left navigation sidebar by default when opening an App.
