      Issue Summary

As a customer, whenever I create a new custom field, I don't want it to be automatically applied to all existing requests in the service project. I'd like to be able to modify the field context and choose the request type I want the custom field to be shown in, even if it shares work item types with another request type.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Go to yourinstance.atlassian.net and
      2. Go to system settings or  Cog and select work items or issues
      3. Select Custom Fields and click on Create custom field
      4. Select Custom field type and click Next, and Add to Screens
      5. Select the project and add it to the context screen.

      Expected Results

To be able to create a custom field, add it to the work item type and request type.

      Actual Results

When you create a custom field and associate it with to work item type, the screen it applies to all existing request types.

      Workaround

To prevent Jira from automatically adding new custom fields to existing request types, you need to manually manage the fields for each request type. Here are the steps you can follow:

      1. Access Project Settings: Go to your service project and select Project settings.
      2. Navigate to Request Types: Under Request management, select Request types.
      3. Customize Request Types: Choose the request type you want to customize.
      4. Manage Fields:
        • Select either Work item view or Request form.
        • You can add, remove, or rearrange fields as needed:
          • To add a field, drag and drop it into your desired location from the panel on the right.
          • To remove a field, drag and drop it into the panel on the right.
          • To rearrange fields, drag and drop them into your desired order.
      5. Save Changes: After making the necessary adjustments, ensure you save the change{}
