Currently, Jira does not support making system fields required directly through field configurations. Users have expressed a need to enforce system fields, such as 'Target Start', 'Target End', 'Start Date', and 'Parent', as required not only during transitions but also on the edit screen. This feature request aims to provide the ability to mark system fields as required in field configurations, enhancing the flexibility and control over issue field requirements. This enhancement would allow for more comprehensive data integrity and consistency across Jira projects.
