Users are unable to create inline issue in company managed backlog

      Issue Summary

      When creating an inline issue in company managed backlog whilst having a Epic (custom  issue type epic) selected in the epic panel or quick filter the user will see error:

      Issue '<issue key>' must be of type 'Epic'. 

      (i.e. creating an inline issue with the custom epic type as parent)

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a new issue type eg. "New Epic"
      2. Add to the issue hierarchy at the same level as Epic
      3. Add this new issue type to the project Project Settings->Issues->Types
      4. Create a new issue  of type New Epic let's say EPIC-1
      5. Go to Backlog board and enable Epic Panel and select EPIC-1
      6. On right-hand side trying to create a new issue in backlog will result in following error:
      Issue '<issue key>' must be of type 'Epic'.  

      Please see attached GIF image. 

      Expected Results

      Although the New Epic issue type is of Epic we see the error

      It is expected that the issue will be created inline.

      Actual Results

      The following error is displayed in the pop-up window (issue created)

      Issue '<issue key>' must be of type 'Epic'.  

      Workaround

      When you see the pop-up window with the error, click the Create button again and the issue gets created
