This behavior was originally reported on bug ID-8761.
Providing some context. The issue was happening every time someone tried to access JSM for the first time. The situation has drastically improved, but it seems like the issue is still happening intermittently (1 out of 10 attempts).
When the "User Access Settings" are configured to automatically grant Jira licenses to approved domains, users can experience a redirection loop that sometimes end up with the error:
You're almost there
It looks like our database is taking a little longer than usual to sync up. Wait a few moments then try again. If you continue to see this error, raise a support request."
Steps to Reproduce
- Under "User Access Settings", make sure the approved domain is granted access to Jira.
- Remove access to Jira for one test user from that domain.
- Have the user visit the Jira product.
Expected Results
- The user should get a screen that they're joining Jira and then seamlessly be redirected to the page they were trying to access.
Actual Results
- User is sent to a redirection loop, where they might end with the following message and the option to try again:
Workaround
- In most cases, even when receiving the error the license is granted. So clicking on Try again or refreshing the page fixed the issue.
- If the user is not granted access after retrying and refreshing the page, the admin needs to explicitly add the user to the product access group for Jira.
