      Hi,

it would be amazing if, through the "Browse Projects" permission, you can hide either the project from the project list in Projects > View all projects.

Unfortunately, at the moment, even if you don't have the "Browse Projects" right you can see the entire list of projects (ok if they try to enter inside the board they will see an empty board, no issues, but it's an information that we don't like to share with everyone).

      Thanks!

      Workaround

      company-managed
To see a project in the Projects > View all projects list, a user must have the "Browse Projects" project permission or be a site admin.

To see a project in the Create issue modal (i.e. the popup that appears when you click the green Create button) Project dropdown, you need to have the "Create issue" project permission.

      team-managed
It's not possible to hide a team-managed project from the Projects > View all projects list.

To see a team-managed project in the Create issue modal you need a role with the Create issue permission:

          Form Name

            [JRACLOUD-92832] Hide project list

at the moment, even if you don't have the "Browse Projects" right you can see the entire list of projects

At the present point in time, this does not appear to be the case for Jira Cloud.

Projects can be removed from the "View all projects" page by restricting Browse Projects permission.

It may be that some users are encountering a symptom where Browse Projects grants permission inadvertently to a user/group via custom field value, such as this Bug here:

            • JRACLOUD-75053: Grant "Browse Project" permission to "User Custom Field Value" makes project visible to all users

Or that there is another grant within the Browse Projects permission (such as granting to all logged in users).

As such, it's best to look over the Browse Projects permission to ensure there is no grant such as this.

To avoid any conclusion for others, for now I will mark this Suggestion ticket as closed.

Sorry, I wrote "you can hide either the project from the project list" instead of "you can hide ALSO the project from the project list."
