Issue Summary
In order to create a relation between standard issue types and Epics you need to use the field Epic Link rather than Parent Link.
Currently you can search and select Epics in the Parent Link field. The field itself presents a message stating that the field Epic Link should be used:
Steps to Reproduce
- Search for an Epic in the Parent Link field on a standard issue type that's below the Epic issue type in the hierarchy
- Pick the Epic once you find it
Expected Results
Either you should not be able to find Epics in that field, or when picking the Epic the issue will be displayed as a child issue on the Epic's issue view.
Actual Results
You can pick the Epic and it will be retained in the Parent Link field. You cannot see that issue whose Parent Link has been populated in the Epic's issue view:
- In the example above the issue KAN-34 (used as example for the other screenshots) is not displayed
Workaround
Use the field Epic Link to create relations between standard issue types below the Epic's hierarchy and Epics.
