Searching for assignee doesn't work if assignee is defined as a big number

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

      Assignee can be described as a number for example 999998 or as a string for example aabbb1111118888:1

      Searching for an assignee doesn't work when the assignee's number is outside of the Long value range.

      This search works:

      assignee = 123456 -> It's treated as a number probably

      This search works:

      assignee = 123456:a -> It's treated as a string

      This search doesn't work:

      assignee = 123456789123456789123456789 -> it's treated as a number

      This search works:

      assignee = "123456789123456789123456789" -> It's treated as a string

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Go to search
      2. Type JQL with assignee which is a big number for example : "assignee = 9999999999999999999999"

      Expected Results

      The query should be parsable.

      Actual Results

      The below exception is thrown while parsing:

      Error in the JQL Query: '9999999999999999999999' is not a valid number. Numbers must be between -9,223,372,036,854,775,808 and 9,223,372,036,854,775,807.

      Workaround

      Use "" when searching for assignee which is defined as a big number:

      assignee = "9999999999999999999999"
