Move issue display range to Project settings

      Problem

      The timeline view of Jira Software can only show 5,000 issues at once with no more than 500 being at the parent level .

      Users can avoid exceeding this limit by adjusting the saved filter for company-managed Boards, however, this is not possible for team-managed Boards and exceeding this limit means that you can't view your Timeline and have no way of fixing it.

      When attempting to access the Timeline view you will be met with the following:

      Too many issues to display the timeline

      Your timeline isn't available because the board filter contains over 5,000 issues. Adjust the board filter to reduce the number of issues, and continue using your timeline.

      Proposed solution

      The Issue display range found under View settings → Refine your view should be moved to Project settings → Timeline. This way you are not blocked from using the Timeline view and can actually lower the amount of issues displayed as a workaround.
