Logic behind Status filter for NextGen Roadmap is not documented well

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

The Status filter on a NextGen Roadmap has only 3 statuses to filter for:

      • To Do
      • In Progress
      • Done

These are not actually the names of the columns on the board, but rather status categories. It is confusing for customers who have custom columns apart from those 3. If there are only the factory default columns, those match the filter perfectly. However, if customer creates custom columns, the logic changes to:

      • The left most column referred as To Do, but it can have any names
      • All columns excluding left and right most referred as In Progress, but there can be differently named column(s), all will be displayed. For example if there is a To Do column here, that status will be displayed too, but the filter is for In Progress.
      • The right most column referred as Done, but it can be called anything.

An Epic is displayed if the Epic itself or at least one of its children has the filtered status, or in case of custom columns, the filtered statuses by In Progress.

It would be good to have it documented somewhere, that the Status filter has nothing to do with the column names in a NextGen project, except if there are no custom columns at all.
