Issue Summary

Customers have reported difficulties distinguishing between sprints due to truncated sprint names in multiple areas of the product:

• List View Grouping: When grouping work items by sprint in the List view, sprint names are truncated, making it challenging to differentiate between sprints—especially when names are similar.

• Sprint Picker in Reports: The Sprint Picker field in Sprint Reports displays only about 20 characters (depending on character width), even though sprints can have up to 30 characters in their names. As a result, longer sprint names are cut off, making it hard to select the correct sprint.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a sprint with a name longer than 20 characters.

1. In the List view, group work items by sprint, or open the Sprint Picker in a Sprint Report.

1. Observe that the sprint name is truncated and not fully visible.

Expected Results

Sprint names should be displayed in full in both the List view grouping and the Sprint Picker, allowing users to easily distinguish and select the correct sprint.

Requested Improvements

• Increase the width of the sprint name field/dropdown.

• Display the full sprint name on hover (tooltip).

• Wrap the sprint name text to the next line if it exceeds the visible area.

Workaround

While there isn't a direct solution to resize the dropdown, we recommend you consider these workarounds:

• Shorten Sprint Names: If possible, reduce the length of future sprint names to fit within the visible character limit.

• Identify by Prefix: Use a unique prefix for each sprint that can be visible within the first 20 to 25 characters to help in identifying the correct sprint.

It would be helpful if the width of the sprint dropdown could dynamically adjust to accommodate longer sprint names, or if alternative solutions were provided to ensure sprint names are fully visible.
