      Issue Summary

Sprint Burndown chart in the Team-managed project is showing incomplete issues as completed.

This also affects the Burnup report, where an issue in progress(not mapped to the last column) is displayed as Issue completed.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a new Jira project using the Scrum template and Team-managed type.
      2. Add a new unmapped status:
        1. Go to Project settings > (Any Issue type) > Edit workflow.
        2. Add a new In-Progress status (e.g., Ready for Dev) and click Update workflow.
        3. On the opened Review columns and statuses on the board, remove the mapping for the Ready for Dev status and save the changes.
        4. Return to the Project Backlog.
      3. Create a new Issue and assign the new status:
        1. Create a new Issue of the type used in step 2.1.
        2. Ensure the Issue is assigned to a Sprint. Start the Sprint.
        3. Move the Issue to status the unmapped Ready for Dev status.
        4. Move the Issue to status the mapped In Progress status.
      4. Go to the Sprint Burndown chart:
        1. Go to Project Settings> Features and enable Reports.
        2. Go back to Project and then Reports > Sprint burndown chart or Burnup report.

      Expected Results

The report shows the Issue as incomplete and the chart includes events for the transitions to the unmapped Ready for Dev status and mapped In Progress status.

      Actual Results

The report shows the Issue as completed and the chart includes only the transition to the unmapped Ready for Dev status.

This bug is also affecting the Company managed projects as well.

      Workaround

As an alternative solution, we recommend mapping all statuses to columns in a Team-managed project board, as this is generally the preferred configuration.
Doing so will ensure that reports align with the column settings and accurately display completed and incomplete issues as expected.

This can be done by going to Project settings > Board > Columns and statuses.

For Company managed project this can be done by going to Board >> Configure Board >> Columns settings
