At the moment, whenever all children of a backlog element are closed, the parent gets closed automatically as well. In some situations it would be desirable to keep the parent open in such a situation because the epic is not yet fully completed (there might be more stories to be added in the future or there is an estimate on the epic itself in JIRA that has not yet been broken down further). This epic serves as a reminder that there is still work to be done.
Workaround
Create a placeholder child entry that remains open to keep the parent entry from getting closed.

I have instances where initiatives or epics aren't necessarily completed when their children are completed. It may be there are further epics or tasks to add.
How do I get the system to stop automatically marking an initiative or epic as complete when it's child epics or tasks are completed?
