I am very impressed by the scope of what your product brings to the planning process. However, I believe that if an EPIC is to be considering the primary top level planning unit, then I think your product is missing one important aspect - the facility to apply business value ratings to EPICS!

By this I mean having a facility to apply a business influence/value ratings to an EPIC - ideally across several different rating factors.

Examples of these business value attributes include:

      • Strategic value
      • Revenue influence
      • Cost of Sale influence
      • Cost of ownership influence
      • Risk

Put simply you could imagine having a facility to:

      • Define one or more business rating attributes
      • At an EPIC level allow numeric values to be assigned against each attribute
      • Extend your roadmap time view to include a horizontal band that shows how much business value is being delivered over time.
