      Atlassian Update - 27/10/2026

      Hi everyone,

We agree that team-managed spaces should get the same results as company-managed spaces here.

We're changing portfolioChildIssuesOf() so its results include work items in team-managed spaces. This covers valid team-managed hierarchies, plus supported relationships between company-managed and team-managed spaces, such as a team-managed epic under a company-managed initiative. Results will still respect permissions and issue security.

We've announced the change and its timeline in the developer changelog: https://developer.atlassian.com/changelog/#CHANGE-3526. We plan a progressive rollout from February 1, 2027, and we'll update this ticket when it starts and again when it's complete.

If you have saved filters, boards or automation rules that rely on team-managed work items being left out of portfolioChildIssuesOf() results, please review them before the rollout starts.

At the moment the JQL issuekey in portfolioChildIssuesOf("<issuekey>") does not return value for the Team Managed projects TMP.
The workaround is to use the parent = <issuekey>
