Maybe I am missing something, but it seems that custom screens must always present the comment field. In other words, if I create a custom screen with fields A, B, and C, when that screen is displayed, I will see fields A, B, C, and Comment(s). I would like to be able to selectively disable the comment(s) field.

[JRACLOUD-8754] Add a custom screen property that hides the comment field.

I believe this issue is a duplicate of JRACLOUD-12244 – Allow control of whether comment field will be shown on Edit and Transition screens which has more votes.

I recommend that watchers of this issue vote on and watch the above issue. So that votes aren't split, I believe this ticket should be closed, but I will wait a week before taking any action in case anyone disagrees. Thank you!

Note: Adding the property jira.permission.comment.user: false to a workflow status will prevent users from commenting on an issue in that status. It will also, however, prevent the user from seeing existing comments.

I concur. This tends to be redundant when the field being displayed is, for example, a Resolution Description field. Why would you want to enter the comment twice?

My customer also hope to hide the comment field on the custom screen.

I'd also like a way to exclude Comment from an edit screen.
