When navigating the backlog of a software team-managed project, it is possible to change the status of an issue from within the backlog view. This is represented by the status in the right hand corner of the card/row.

Company managed projects offer the ability to add up to three different fields on the card layout itself, however, an option to select the status from a drop down doesn't exist.
