Issue Summary
For a Company-Managed project, Jira Scrum boards require that at least the "backlog" status is mapped to a board column, usually as the left-most board column. Otherwise the backlog displays as empty.
When the the Days in Column feature is also used, this day count reflects the time in the backlog, and not the days in the left-most column of the board. This is confusing to teams as the count does not reflect the time since the start of the current Sprint.
Steps to Reproduce
1. For a project, add a Scrum board,
2. From board settings, columns, confirming the "backlog" column is mapped as the left-most column
3. From board settings, card layout, enable the Days In Column option
4. From the backlog, create a sprint
5. From the backlog, add several issues to the sprint, including some that have been in the backlog for several days
6. Start the sprint
7. View the board
Expected Results
The issues all appear on the board. Any issues that were in the "backlog" status appear in the left-most board column, with the Days In Column not showing as the elapsed time is less than one day.
Actual Results
The Days in Column for the issues in the left-most board column show the number of days in the backlog, not the days in the column
Workaround
There is no work-around. The Days In Column still uses the number of days in backlog for the left-most column. This occurs because any “backlog” status must still be mapped to a board column or Scrum boards have no backlog.
