      Issue Summary

When moving a sub-task into a Done status and/or column on a Scrum or Kanban board, if the Workflow being used in the project does not set a resolution field value, the issue's key will temporarily be displayed in strikethrough formatting. After a few moments or upon a board refresh, the strikethrough formatting will be removed, displaying the issue key as it was before it was moved into the Done status.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Jira project has example status named "Done" in the "Done" status category
      2. Remove post-function that sets issue's Resolution to any value for the transition to Done status
      3. Create either Scrum or Kanban board with Done status mapped to rightmost column
      4. Create sub-task and ensure it will appear on the board view (not backlog view)
        1. For scrum board, this requires creating a sprint, adding the issue into the sprint, and starting the sprint
      5. Drag issue into rightmost column to set status to Done
        1. Alternatively, open issue in issue view
        2. Set issue status to Done via issue status drop down
        3. Close issue view and return to board view

      Expected Results

Since no resolution is being set on this issue, as post-function has been removed from the workflow, strikethrough is not displayed on the issue key.

      Actual Results

If issue is drag-and-dropped into the rightmost column, Strikethrough is displayed briefly, and after a few seconds, reverts.

If issue is opened in issue view, and status is changed via dropdown, then issue view is closed, Strikethrough is displayed on the issue key until the board is refreshed in browser.

This behavior does not appear in the Backlog view, or for issue types other than sub-task.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
