Show the priority name instead of its icon in Dashboard results

      Problem Definition

      This is very similar to the following closed suggestion:

      However, this is happening within Dashboard results, for instance, the gadget "Filter results". When searching for issues, if the "P" (Priority) column is added, it only shows the Priority Icon instead of its name:


       

      Suggested Solution

      Show the priority name instead of the icon.

      Why this is important

      If the priority name is shown instead of the icon, it's easier to understand the issue's priority.

      Relying only on icons can be far from ideal for some users, for instance, colorblind users would benefit from having the Priority name available instead of the icon. 

      Workarounds

      Option 1:

      Hovering the priority icon shows up its name. (Not ideal)

      Option 2:

      Use Automation for Jira to copy the Priority to a custom field with the Priority name, and display this custom field as a column in the Dashboard results. 

      Here's an example of how the automation rule could look like:
