Issue Summary
- When typing in Korean language ( 2-set input method ), the last character being typed is deleted when you press enter ( next-line ).
- The issue seems to be because the Jira\Confluence editor highlights the last character when typing in Korean.
- Hitting enter to go to next line then clears the last character which is selected.
- Issue seems to occur on any browser on a Windows OS ( Chrome, Edge latest versions tested ).
- Issue doesn't occur when typing in a different application or web-page.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install the Korean language on Windows
- Open Jira in a Chrome or Edge and navigate to a comment or a description field
- Switch to the Korean language input method from the task-bar
- Start typing and note that the last letter is highlighted
- Hit enter and note that the field is removed
Expected Results
- The cursor moves to the next line and previously typed text is retained
Actual Results
- The cursor moves to the next line but the last letter that was highlighted is removed
Workaround
- The workaround is for the user to either left click or use the right arrow key after typing the last letter on a line which results in the character no longer being highlighted.
- Using enter after this works fine.
- However, this is not a feasible approach to typing within Jira\Confluence for those using Korean language
Note
- Issue is being track for Confluence Cloud in this ticket;
