Issue Summary
Even after applying filters, downloading large volume of audit logs are causing 504 Bad Gateway
Steps to Reproduce
- Step 1 - Login to Jira Instance > Settings > System > Audit Log > Export
- Step 2 - When applying the filters for a single day and when the Audit Events are huge in size, it is failing with 504 Gateway Timeout Error
Expected Results
Exporting of Audit logs should be successful without any issues.
Actual Results
When the audit events are huge, then it fails with 504 Gateway Timeout Error and it is visible on the UI.
Workaround
- Raise a request with the technical support team to assist you with downloading the audit logs OR
- Try filtering the audit logs to reduce the number of events that should be exported (for instance, using a date range or "last 30 days") OR
- Follow the steps from the below KB article to fetch the audit records using the Python script - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Python+Script+to+fetch+the+Jira+audit+log+data+in+CSV+format
