Issue Summary

User would like to be able to use a filter in the Issue search to display all issues linked to specific epic(s).

Steps to Reproduce

1. Login to Jira
2. Navigate to Filters, then View all issues
3. Filter on specific epic(s) to display issues belonging to the epic

Expected Results

When searching, user would like to see either

• A) field similar to Epic Link where you can type in an epic name and only see epics
• B) When using Parent, a visual indication (like issue type icon) that differentiates between epics and non-epic issues

Actual Results

When using Parent, it returns all issues including non-epic type issues, which can be confusing if the epic name matches other issues within the project, not knowing which one is the epic.

Workaround

You can use the Parent field to search using the Epic key instead of the Epic summary.

• Since Epic link is phased out, you will not be able to use iut in your search anymore.
