To resolve the problem where dashboards are limited to only 20 gadgets, how about allowing a DIFFERENT type of dashboard, e.g. to coin a name, a "mega-dashboard", that allows more than 20 gadgets (which many people are asking for, e.g. see JRACLOUD-69218).

However, nobody looks at all 20+gadgets immediately on load - its humanly impossible - so why not DELAY the loading those gadgets?

Instead, they could be all loaded at other times, perhaps:

• when scrolled into view
  OR
• have a refresh or load button on each gadget, which the user will have to press
  OR
• load the gadgets initially minimized and not loaded, so that the user has to un-minimize them when they are wanted.

This will solve these problems:

• hitting the server with large ( greather than 20) number of requests all at once on load of the dashboard.
• not allowing more than 20 gadgets on a dashboard.
