Issue Summary

When highlighting a text in the Description field of a Jira issue, the user expects the highlight to remain so that they can right-click on the text to bring up the context menu.

However, on Firefox (tested on the latest release 126.0.1), the highlight disappears after highlighting some text in the Description field and releasing the mouse key. The symptom doesn't occur on other web browsers, such as Google Chrome.

The symptom also requires the following to be true:

• The site contains Jira Service Management (JSM) Premium subscription
• AI is enabled for JSM

Steps to Reproduce

1. Ensure the cloud instance has JSM Premium subscription
2. Ensure JSM product have AI enabled (via admin.atlassian.com > Settings > Atlassian Intelligence

Expected Results

The text highlight in the Description field remains highlighted after mouse key is lifted. A popup "AI: Define" is presented:

Actual Results

The text highlight in the Description field disappears after mouse key is lifted. There was a brief popup showing "AI: Define". A sample video is attached to this ticket.

Workaround

• Use a different web browser
• Disable AI for JSM on the site
