Issue Summary

It is necessary to have the Edit Issues permission in the project in order to add child issues to an issue.

Not having that permission will results in a misleading error message saying that there was a connection problem rather than lack of the necessary permission:

We couldn't link the child issue

Check your connection, then give it another try

Steps to Reproduce

• Make sure you do not have the permission Edit Issues in the project
• Try to add an existing issue as a child issue:
  
  

Expected Results

The error message will state that you do not have the Edit Issues permission.

Actual Results

A misleading error message is displayed stating to try again, indicating a possible connection problem.

Workaround

In case you receive that message, check the project's permissions.
