If a field is made required through workflow validator, no red asterisk is shown

I'd like to make a field required only when I'm transitioning an issue. Therefore I've put a validator for a custom field I've created into the "in progress and step" workflow step. However, no regular red asterisk is shown when I make it so.

Jira should always show red asterisk whenever a field is required, not only when it's made required globally using "Required" toggle in Field Configurations.
