      Issue Summary

When copying and pasting tables in Jira containing cells starting with numbers followed by a dot and including formatting (e.g., colors or italics), the content loses its formatting and incorrectly converts numbered cells into lists. This behavior impacts the accurate replication of content. For example:

This behavior impedes the accurate replication of formatted content across different sections within Jira, potentially impacting data consistency and readability.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a table in Jira with cells containing text starting with numbers (e.g., 1., 2., etc.) in the description field of an issue.
      2. Apply formatting (such as colors or italics) to these numbered cells.
      3. Copy the table content.
      4. Paste the content into the same field

      Expected Results

      • The copied content should retain its original formatting, including the numbering sequence and any applied formatting (colors, italics, etc.).
      • The pasted content should accurately reflect the structure and formatting of the original table.

      Actual Results

      • When pasting the copied content, numbered cells are transformed into lists, replacing all numbers with "1".
      • Formatting applied to the numbered cells is lost during the copying and pasting process, resulting in a loss of visual formatting.

      Workaround

To maintain formatting and numbering sequence when copying and pasting tables:

      1. Manually set numbered lists before copying content.
      2. Utilize numbered columns within tables to ensure formatting consistency.
