Improve error messages on Activity Streams

      Summary

      When an Activity Stream dashboard gadget fails for any reason, it will only show a generic error message:

      "An error occurred while trying to retrieve recent activity"

      Suggestion

      Show more descriptive error messages that help to point the the cause of the problem. For example, if there is any issue with an Application Link that is related to the Activity Stream.
