Issue Summary
Embedding an anchored section of a Confluence page content in the Jira issue description field via Smart links does not display the desired section, rather, displays the content from the start of the page. This also affects headings which are very prominent in the recent versions of Confluence Cloud.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Jira issue and a Confluence page
- Add content to a Conf page such that it spans a couple of scrolls
- Add an anchor to a section or right-click to "Copy link to highlight"
- Paste the link in Jira issue description field
For headings
- Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Jira issue and a Confluence page
- Add content to a Conf page such that it spans a couple of scrolls
- Add a Heading in the bottom of the content.
- Publish.
- Roll your mouse over the Heading, click on "Copy Link to Heading"
- Paste the link in Jira issue description field
- Click on the link and select "Embed View"
- Click on Save.
Expected Results
The description field should show the desired section of the Confluence page rather than the top of the page
Actual Results
The top of the page is seen. Upon clicking the same link to be opened in a new window in Confluence, the anchored content is visible after the full page load
Workaround
Currently, there is no known workaround for this behaviour. A workaround will be added here when available
