Description
User Problem
There has been a change to the functionality of the Create Dashboard Gadget that has resulted in a loss of functionality that can impact user's productivity.
The Edit function was dropped from the gadget creation screen.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Perform a Jira search
2. From the Export Menu, select Create Dashboard Gadget
3. Select Pie Chart
Expected Results:
- Able to see the total number of issues in the search results (this is particularly important for queries that return more than 1000 issues)
- Able to edit the Pie Chart to select something other than Assignee (status, project or issue type for example) during its creation with no need to save it.
- Able to click on a section of the pie chart and open in a new window the results for that section, during its creation with no need to save it.
Actual Results:
- Not able to see the total number of issues
- Not able to edit and select any other than Assignee for the "Statistc Type" option on the creation screen.
- Not able to click on a section of the pie chart and open in a new window from the creation screen.
Suggested Solutions
Users used to use this functionality when they:
- Want to see how many of the issues in the query are bugs vs stories or which projects are included in the results or the statuses of a large query set as a quick way to see the information
- Want to see the total number of issues when a query is over 1000 issues.
- Need a quick way to get information about large query sets.
Adding the edit feature back would avoid customers from performing additional steps that lead to additional time to perform the above compared to before the changes.
Current Workarounds
- Save the gadget to a dashboard and then edit it to change to a different statistic/ fit data display criteria.
