As a Jira administrator I would like to easily update the order of Statuses in Settings/Issues/Issue Attributes/Statuses

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

Currently the only way to reorder the list of statuses available in Jira, is to manually change the order by one-and-one click. And sometimes there are statuses that actually will not be reordered/will not move up or down when clicking on Order.

This suggestion is based on various "things":

      • Since the order of statuses in settings impact how statuses are ordered in for instance gadgets in Dashboards etc, it would be great to provide an out-of-the box logical order of statuses for users creating dashboards etc
      • I am aware that the order can be manipulated in workflows by setting opsbar-sequence. However, if a Jira admin has newly started in the role, the whole opsbar-sequence "thing" is not easy accessible and easy to learn
      • as a Jira admin, it would be easier to search for potential statuses when new change requests come in, if the list is ordered according to status category

So this suggestion really is "only" to make it possible for an admin to automatically order statuses by; Category and alphabetically on Name
