Description
Within Jira Software Projects, changing the Issue Linking causes strange behavior with automatically adding the Linked Issue when using the 'Create Linked Issue' Button.
JWM Projects still populate the Linked Issue with these settings in place, only affecting Jira Software Projects.
Problem
Client wanted to change the default 'Linked Issue' type presented when selecting 'Create Linked Issue' button so that when 'Create Linked Issue' is selected, 'caused' is not the default value presented.
How to Replicate
Link to Loom Recording of the behavior I receive:
https://www.loom.com/share/810d0c084ddf4a5e9134f1410d0701fe
- When I select 'Create Linked Issue' in my test site > the default link type is 'causes':

- I thought this was populated alphabetically. Navigate to 'Issue Linking' and EDIT 'Problem/Incident' changing the Inward Link 'causes' to any other value. Example 'causes' to '1causes' or any other value:

- Immediately broke the 'Create Linked Issue' screen as now no Issue is automatically added to the Linked Issue field:

- It seems only the Inward Link being edited causes this link to break. I went back and changed the Inward back to 'causes' and everything works as expected successfully:

- For my client specifically, they completely removed the 'Problem/Incident' Link Type so there is NO 'causes' or 'is caused by' Inward/Outward direction at all, and the client gets the same problem, the Issue does not automatically populate as linked.

Workaround:
At this time, the only way to resolve this issue that I was able to find was to Edit the 'Inward Link' back to the default 'causes'.
