"Category is required" / "category field is required" error prevents users from creating tickets

      Issue Summary

      On some instances the Category custom field has become Required, while also being locked. This prevents users from creating issues. The field type is a dropdown without any options, so even if it is added to the Create screen, a dummy value cannotbe entered to bypass the errors "Category is required" / "category field is required".

      Steps to Reproduce

      Note this is only occurring on some instances, where the bug has caused the

      1. Attempt to create an issue
      2. Observe one of the following errors  "Category is required" / "category field is required"

      Expected Results

      The locked Category field should not be required, nor should it appear on Jira Software projects.

      Actual Results

      The issue cannot be created and the error "Category is required" / "category field is required" appears. If the Category field is added to the Create screen, it is not possible to enter a value into it.

      Workaround

      Please create a Support Ticket with us and mention JSWCLOUD-24061 if you are experiencing this issue.
