Many customers want to analyze their Jira Cloud data alongside their other business data in a data warehouse like Snowflake.

There are services like Fivetran or To Snowflake that will use the Jira Cloud API to read data for issues, projects, sprints, etc. and load them into a data warehouse. However, these pipelines are not always reliable and involve heavy use of the Jira Cloud API to read data frequently to check for updates.

Snowflake offers a service called Secure Data Sharing that lets service providers make a customer-specific database available with a full copy of relevant records, mitigating the need to use a third-party service to extract, transform and load Jira Cloud data into a data warehouse and providing higher data reliability, as it comes straight from the official source.

As more and more Jira Cloud customers come to rely on having up-to-date and accurate data available for analysis, the value-add of providing this natively to popular data warehouses is high.
