Issue Summary
Due to GDPR/Data Redaction, it would be good to have any feature which allows us to redact information (PII, api keys, passwords, etc..) from issues without needing to delete the whole issue and lost that information.
Expected Results
Redact Information with not letting it saved on the logs or history tab in each issue after deleting an important data.
Actual Results
Sometimes developers or users will accidentally post API keys, and other
sensitive information, which we need to delete but still want to keep the
ticket of record. When we edit the comment, the key just goes into the
ticket history.
Workaround
Maybe use an automation to create a custom field that may have the name "GDPR" and if it contains value, we can understand that the issue is being deleted due to a GDPR information redact, then, the automation rule can clone the issue and just recreate it into the same project and just clone fields that are not impacting GDPR rules.
Also we have this feature that may help: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1218962/gdpr-dsgvo-and-security-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
