      Issue Summary

Project when permanently deleted remains in Trash for some time after using permanent delete function. There is no indication of progress, or time to complete. When migrating projects which need to be deleted and remigrated, this causes significant delays with no indication of when operation will be completed.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Move Jira project to trash.
      2. Permanently Delete project.

      Expected Results

Progress indicator showing remaining time for project to be permanently deleted

      Actual Results

No indication of when the project in the trash will be permanently removed, after executing the option to permanently remove. The project remains there in the trash for undetermined amount of time.

Attempting successive permanent delete operations result in "Something went wrong" error thrown in the ui and internal server error recorded in network developer console.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available. Atlassian support engineers can query the database to get a count of how many issues are still remaining. In case we want an estimate of when this will be completed, please get in touch with a support engineer.
