Description
Issue Summary
Currently, once one project is deleted, it's possible to reuse its project key in a brand new project as, for example, ABC.
However, if previous deleted project had issues which were moved to another project, it's not possible to use the same pkey + issue number in brand new project.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new project with pkey = ABC
- Create some issues
- Move some ABC issues to any other project
- Delete ABC project
- Create a brand new project reusing ABC as pkey
- Create issues in the new ABC project
It's possible to notice that the issue number of moved issues in step 3 won't be used again. So, for example, if ABC-12 was moved, the new ABC project will have ABC-11 and then will jump to ABC-13, not being possible to create ABC-12 again.
That's because once issues are moved between projects, the previous issue keys are reserved in order to avoid conflicting references.
Expected Results
Since the project was deleted, it should be possible to reuse pkey + issue number
Actual Results
If ABC-12 was moved before the fist ABC project is deleted, the new ABC project will have ABC-11 and then will jump to ABC-13, not being possible to create ABC-12 again.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
