      Issue Summary

      When accessing a Project main page under 'Issues' there are a number of default filters. There are two filters ('My Open Issues' & 'Open Issues') that utilize JQL that includes the following string:

      statusCategory in ("New", "In Progress")

      In this JQL 'New' is not a valid status category. There are only 3 valid returns here; To Do, In Progress, Done.

      As 'New' is not a valid Status Category the coded JQL should not return this value.  It should be 'To Do'.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Access any Project main page
      2. Click on 'My Open Issues' or 'Open Issues' quick filter

      Expected Results

      We would assume the coded JQL would have 'To Do' instead of 'New'.  'New' is not a valid search variable that therefore will not return valid results.

      When leveraging the API, the status.statusCategory.name field presents the following values:

          public static String UNDEFINED = "undefined";
          public static String TO_DO = "To Do";
          public static String IN_PROGRESS = "indeterminate";
          public static String COMPLETE = "Complete";

      We can further verify this by attempting to alter the filter. Only the 3 valid responses are available.

      Actual Results

      Instead of returning the correct value in the filter, we get the erroneous statusCategory value of 'New'.

      This is similar to the findings in JRACLOUD-68855.

      The status.statusCategory.name will show incorrect values. From a preliminary analysis, it seems that this is occurring because the interface StatusCategory.java is referencing the following values:

          public static String UNDEFINED = "undefined";
          public static String TO_DO = "new";
          public static String IN_PROGRESS = "indeterminate";
          public static String COMPLETE = "done";

      Additionally, it appears this may present as the value is a coded Constant.

      public static final String TO_DO
      Constant Value: "new"

      Workaround

      Currently, as a workaround you can manually alter the JQL after clicking the quick filter link in order to set the correct statusCategory.
